Shared Path under Windang Bridge on the south side (Shellharbour side) has been temporarily closed…

The Shared Path under Windang Bridge on the south side (Shellharbour side) has been closed with signs advising Pedestrians to Use Other Footpath.

This is a Shared Path and it is unfortunate that there is no signage to guide cyclists to a safe worksite by-pass as recommended in the Safety around Worksites guidelines.

For cycling safety I hope everybody can circulate a warning and suggest alternate routes as described below.

Riders heading south from Windang and continuing along the coast towards Shellharbour need to use the eastern (seaside) shared path on Windang Bridge.
Riders heading to Oak Flats, Albion Park or around the lake need to use the western (lake side) shared path on Windang Bridge.
Riders needing the cross under Shellharbour road will need to ride over Windang Bridge, under Windang Bridge on the north side of the bridge and back across Windang Bridge on the other side.
